The Female Autobots aren't as extinct as Shockwave would lead you to believe!

There's long been an underground clamor for Cybertronian representation of the fairer sex. Everyone's always mentioned characters like Arcee, and occasionally Elita-One; some were satisfied with Blackarachnia and left it at that. Others made fan characters, or arguments that established characters were actually female. Yet strangely, there was never much call for the females who appeared in "The Search for Alpha Trion" — one of whom was Moonracer.

The Female Autobots were a challenge because I had to strike a balance between a body that looked too human (I considered using G.I. Joes) and a body that looked too artificial (Action Masters are seldom mistaken for humans). What I found were figures from a line called "Star Force" which are humans, but in spacesuits.

Moonracer's head was originally intended to be used for Elita-One. However, the head I had slated for her — a combination of RID Wedge and Padme Amidala — proved problematic. I came up with a different idea for Elita's head, so instead of wasting the molds I already made, I used them for Moonracer. I think it looks better on her shoulders anyway.

I used the following colors on Moonracer:
  • Skull White (Games Workshop)
  • Tentacle Pink (Games Workshop)
  • Ice Blue (Games Workshop)
  • Golden Yellow (Games Workshop)
  • Fifties Aqua (Testors Model Master Spray)
